2020 marks the 45th anniversary of the founding of Argrain Ltd. Since 1975, the company has gradually expanded its operations, from a rented office in York, into the business it is today, with significant animal feed, seed and fertiliser trade together with inhouse drying, storage, and haulage operations.
Over 45 years both technology and the markets that we operate in, have changed beyond recognition, however we have been able to adapt and succeed, by offering a reliable and competitive service. We are proud to say that Argrain still remains a family owned and completely independent company.
Argrain has gradually expanded its operations, thanks to the continued energy and commitment of its directors and staff, together with the excellent relationships we enjoy with both our farmer suppliers and grain buying customers, some of whom have traded with us for every one of the last 45 years. The direct relationships we have are vital to enable us to compete with major national and multi-national competitors, both in the procurement of grain from farms and sales of inputs to farmers. That support, from both new and long standing customers, is greatly valued and very necessary to enable us to look forward to continued success in the future.
Service and reliability are key to the Argrain offer, not just to farmers and the agricultural sector, but also to companies in the food and feed processing industry. Furthermore by working with some of our largest farmer customers, we are now able to offer facilities for drying and storage of all types of combinable crops at various locations, from Gainsborough in Lincolnshire to Croft near Darlington, in addition to our owned stores at Leeming Bar and Raskelf.
